Turning 40

Game over man, game over.

They say life begins at forty but I look and see and feel the changes that take place when one reaches this milestone and I can’t help but feel that the only thing that begins at forty is the end.

My way of dealing with this is to fully embrace the concept of “you’re only as old as you feel” and so I most definitely won’t be acting my age (not that ever did). To take a few words from one of my favourite poems:

When I grow old I will wear purple and learn to spit.

“Warning” by Jenny Joseph. There’s a video on YouTube of Jenny reading the full poem.
